"Mascot "Khun Thong Boran"
History
The origin of “Khun Thong Boran” is a complete skeleton of a dog that was excavated at the Ban Chiang World Heritage Site for the 2nd time in 2003 at the open museum of Wat Pho Si, Ban Chiang Subdistrict, Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province. Ban Chiang in the past had raised dogs as friends or used them. Later, Dr. Khunying Amporn Sukonthaman, together with the newspaper Nopkrit Chantik, brought the matter to His Majesty the King. Nathra Maha Bhumibol Adulyadej and brought a sample of "jaw" for viewing. Which he said to be brought back to be preserved and bestowed the name "Khun Ancient Thong"
